RR Therapy
RR Therapy is a micro-needling therapy that induces collagen production. Creating micro-injuries at varying depths in the top layer of skin triggers a healing response. During the different stages of healing more of the skin’s building blocks collagen and elastin—are produced. RR therapy is commonly used for skin rejuvenation, including the treatment of acne scars.:
- First, the skin is thoroughly cleansed and prepared for the procedure.
- Next, a topical numbing cream may be applied to the area being treated to minimize any discomfort during the procedure.
- The Dermapen 4 device is then gently rolled over the skin along with some serums, creating tiny micro-injuries. These micro-injuries stimulate the skin's natural healing response, which in turn helps to stimulate collagen production and improve the appearance of acne scars.
- After the procedure, the skin may be red and slightly swollen for a few days, but this should subside quickly.
